#Off_the_record with Francesca Bruno, Italy!

This time, meet Francesca Bruno from Italy! 🇮🇹 Francesca is pursuing her Bachelor’s in Cultural and Linguistic Mediation at Roma Tre University and came to Israel to participate in our Semester program! 🎓
This is Francesca’s second Exchange program in two years, and also – she visited all the countries in Europe, some of the countries in North Africa, and now she’s here in the Middle East! 😎
Now for the fun stuff 💃
1. Why Israel?
The languages I chose to study in my Bachelor’s are Arabic and English, and for the Arabic and the middle eastern – it was a good chance for me to really understand better the situation and the culture, something that a book can’t give you. Thanks to that I’m thinking to do my thesis about Israel and the relations with Italy and about the West Bank. I really like the country, the Israelis are really cool and easy going people, and the professors are amazing – they always help you. 🤓
2. How is your experience in Israel until now?
Really good. I think that Israel is the top place for me in terms of growing and understanding things better, from all the places that I’ve been in. It changed me in a very good way. Also, the international office is really helpful, and Tamar our counselor is here for everything that we need. For a lot of people, it’s their first time abroad or the first program, and that make them feel at home.
3. What surprised you about Israel?
That Israeli students go to the university with flip-flops and undershirts! And even the professors sometimes dressed informal. I like that actually, that’s informal in a good way. In Italy you have to go really formal and elegant 🤵 Also, it surprised me how safe is this country – It’s one of the safest countries that I’ve been in.

4. What’s your favorite Be’er Sheva activity?
Definitely the student parties, and the happy hour at Mileva pub! 🎊
5. What’s your hidden talent?
I can eat a lot of chocolate in a really short amount of time 🍫 and also – I can make pizza! 🍕 I discovered that here in Israel the concept of pizza is different – the more things you put on it – the better, but not in Italy – it is the opposite, the less you put the tastier it is. My favorite is with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil – and when I showed it to Israelis they were like – “what?! It’s not possible, that’s it?!” 😂
6. If you could have one super power, what would it be?
Teleportation – that’s how I’ll be able, for example – to have breakfast in Peru, lunch in South Africa and dinner in Dubai ✨
7. What is your dream job?
There are illegal ships that arrives to Sicily that departs from different war places or countries without democracy system, with asylum seekers, refugees, and I really want to be a mediator and help them 😇
