A#Off_the_record with Vivian, Germany!

This time, in a bit different concept – meet Vivian from Germany! Vivian is pursuing her Master’s in Neuroscience at The University of Oldenburg and came to Israel to participate in our internship program! 👩‍🎓
In this picture you can see Vivian (in the yellow shirt) surfing with her friends 🏄‍♀
1. Favorite Hebrew word:
“Fanany” 🤙 (slang for “everything is great”). It was in Natanya (a city in Israel) when I heard it, and it was in a very cool surfing context.
2. Why Israel?
Because of the professor – I met her in Germany and I really liked her, and came to do my research here with her. My research’s subject is human-drones’ interactions. My experience is good, I feel very welcomed, in Israel there are very friendly people, great community, and the research is good.
3. Favorite Be’er-Sheva activity?
Hanging out and skateboarding with friends 🛹. Not long ago we tried the big skating park in Beersheba, it’s huge and it’s great. I’m also part of a surfers’ community, I got to know awesome people that surf and I’m going with them to surf at the beach in Ashkelon 🌊. I bought a board in Israel recently because I couldn’t take mine with me.
4. What’s one thing about you that surprises people?
I do programming. I do many “men” things. I’m a feminist and want to try things that are not generally done by women, but usually done by men and it annoys me, and I want to show – we can also be good in things like that! 💪
6. If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
Surfing like the pro’s. So much adrenalin & fun. It’s just amazing to be in the nature, every time something new happens, it’s never the same ✨

7. If you could have one super power, what would it be?
Flying. Because then I could see things from above 🕊
8. What did you want to do when you were little, and now what is your dream job?
I had a lot of dreams. I wanted to be an adventurer. Now my dream job is working in human-computer interaction 👩‍💻
9. Tell us about a Fadiha (a slip up) you had:
My limit to being embarrassed is super high 😅. The last time I remember is once when I was in the train in Germany, I opened the toilet’s door to someone that forgot to lock it, while he was sittig on the toilet! 🤦‍♀😳
