#Off_the_record with Talia Gadd, USA!

This time, meet Talia Gadd from Michigan, USA! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Talia is pursuing her Bachelor’s in Business, Political Science and Jewish Studies at Kalamazoo College, and came to Israel to participate in our Hebrew Ulpan and our Semester program! ๐ŸŽ“
Talia is about to finish the program and go back to the states after a trip all over Israel and Europe โ€“ in Amsterdam, Paris, Clermont, Prague and a few cities in Germany, so I was so lucky I got the chance to catch her for a chat before she leaves!
Now for the fun stuff ๐Ÿ’ƒ
1. Favorite Hebrew word?
Ahava (love) โค because I did BBYO in high school (a jewish youth group), and my group’s name was “Ahava”.
2. Why Israel?
I love Israel, I’ve been here a few times, it sounded like a really cool place to be for 6 months, and one of my best friend lives in the north, so the idea of living in the same country was exciting ๐ŸŽŠ I had a really good experience, classes are interesting, there are a lot of really cool people – Israelis and people from all over the world, I think it’s amazing to have connections everywhere. We had a really good group of people who were always including everyone in everything, and everyone was really welcoming โœจ
3. Favorite Be’er Sheva activity?
Going to Bars in the evening with people ๐ŸŽ‰. I also like all the events that we all put on, and the events that the international office and the student union put on โ€“ there is always something going on but still not too much going on, and I really like it.
4. What’s one thing about you that surprises people?
I feel like I’m louder than people expect sometimes. I’m small but I can be loud ๐Ÿ˜‚
5. If you could instantly become an expert in something โ€“ what would it be?
Languages. Communicate and understand everyone โ€“ you could go anywhere and survive ๐ŸŒ

6. If you could have one super power, what would it be?
Teleporting myself. After buying all this plane tickets and bus tickets, it makes me think it would be nice to just be able to get to one place by teleporting ๐Ÿง™โ€โ™€
7. Tell us about a Fadiha (slip up)
Oh, I probably have a tone, but one of the worst ones was when I was going to Italy to visit my friends ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น I needed to get to the airport โ€“ I got to the bus stop early ๐ŸšŒ but it left 10 minutes early so I missed it, and then – I got to the train station ๐Ÿš‚ to take a train I realized I didn’t have my passport with me (I was in the phone with my mother and she said something about password, and I thought “passport! I don’t have my passport!”). So I had to take a taxi ๐Ÿš• all the way back to the dorms to get my passport, and then all the way to the airport โœˆ because I missed the train โ€“ so I ended up spending double of the amount of this trip because I forgot my passport! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜
